Ballooning Over Cappadocia

Hot air balloons fly over Cappadocia's unusual landscape as the sun rises in central Turkey.

Hundreds of hot air balloons take flight every dawn to see the region’s  extraordinary landscape.

Ancient volcanic eruptions blanketed this region with thick ash, which solidified into a soft rock. Wind and water went to work on this plateau, leaving only its harder elements behind.
